Custom Design that’s Anything but Ordinary
When The Ordinary wanted to introduce a new lip balm in unique packaging unlike anything on the market, the Studio’s team of designers and engineers made it happen. The custom teardrop silhouette stands out in a sea of traditional sticks and tubes. The Studio’s engineering team tried several different bottle materials before determining that LDPE allowed for optimal squeezability.
The bottles are sprayed with a double coating of soft-touch for an optimized user experience, and then screen printed with the branding. The custom closure complements the bottle shape and has a 2-lead thread allowing consumers to remove the cap with a single turn of the wrist. The closure includes a stem that fits into the hole of the applicator to prevent leaking. The custom applicator sits in the notches of the bottle to ensure it always faces the correct direction and sits at the proper angle.
