Capturing the Italian Spirit
Meaning “of the place and its people,” Amaro Locale celebrates the people, culture, flavors, and elegance of Italy. It is a modern tribute to the historic tradition of Italian amaro that transcends boundaries to become local, everywhere. Pernod Ricard’s first new brand launch in 20 years, Amaro Locale needed the perfect package to capture its unique essence. Studio One Eleven started with one of Berlin Packaging’s exclusive super-premium glass bottle designs and customized it to run more efficiently on the production line, reworking the proportions of its shoulder and neck. The amber bottle’s apothecary style speaks to the liqueur’s rich history, quality ingredients, and artisanal craftsmanship.
The Studio’s work did not stop with the primary packaging. We also developed packaging for special haute cuisine tasting experiences held with top chefs and mixologists throughout Italy. We created a custom display that showcases the Amaro Locale bottle on a hexagonal oak wood glorifier, tied down with a natural rope that wraps around the bottle’s neck. A “bitters experience kit” accompanies the product, with a painted oak serving tray that holds a custom drinking glass, dropper bottle with aromatics, and jar of herbals for mixologists to personalize their pours and express their creativity. The team hand-assembled each display in our shop to meet the product launch’s tight timeline.
